Sam Bat Fall League Baseball

CASE STUDY

CASE STUDY - OTTAWA ROYALS BASEBALL CLUB

The Ottawa Royals Baseball Club (ORBC) launched their fall ball program in 2011.  The program was deemed a success as a first time program with 51 registrants.  The marketing of the program to players started in July and the program ‘sold-out’ eight weeks later – just in time for the fall season to start.   In 2012, ORBC became the first official SAM BAT Fall League and re-launched the program at the same time as it did the year before.  Each registrant received a new Sam Bat with their registrations.  The program grew from 4 teams to 10 teams in 2012 and sold out in three weeks with a 256% percent increase in players participating.   Leveraging the Sam Bat brand the Club stands to more than double its income which it can now use to buy more equipment and invest in player development.  More importantly, the program also exposed an entire new group of players to hitting with wood bats and the Ottawa Royals Baseball Club for next year.
